July 12, 2014: A Compassionate Next Generation
Conetoe Family Life Center, Conetoe, NC
The tour included visits to ministries in Greensboro, Fairview and Conetoe to learn and share about hunger relief efforts and community building. Featured speakers: Rev. Joyner, Conetoe Family Life Center; Sharise Nobles and Jackie Peed, Community Food Network

May 31, 2014: Hunger Matters
First Christian Church, Greensboro, NC
A day of inspiration and practical suggestions for transforming a congregation’s vision into action for addressing food insecurity. The tour included morning workshops and afternoon visits with food ministries. Featured speakers: Margaret Evans, Church World Service; Baylee Smith, First Christian Church; Joy Williams, Partners in Health and Wholeness.

June 7, 2014: Rooted in Giving
Fairview Christian Fellowship, Fairview, NC
This tour was designed for members of congregations and community based groups who have a garden or would like to start a garden. In partnership with the Gardens That Give Network of Western NC, the tour explored the concept of “gardens that give”, as well as an overview of the fruitful work of various gardens and faith communities in the region. Featured speakers: Susan Sides, The Lord’s Acre; members from The Welcome Table of Fairview, Hickory Nut Gap Farm, Fairview Christian Fellowship and garden directors across Buncombe and McDowell counties.
