In Peach County, Georgia, LaShauna Hunt raises chickens, rabbits, goats, ducks, turkeys, guineas, and a variety of fruits and vegetables at GreenHens Homestead.
With the help of RAFI’s Beginning Farmer Stipend, Hunt will invest in improving housing for the homestead’s animals to support healthier living conditions and increase productivity. The project will include a more efficient system for feeding, watering, and cleaning to reduce feed and bedding waste. This will improve the farm’s production capacity, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
