Evelyn Carril is a third-generation farmer. Since she was eight years old, she has worked with her father on their farm. Her farm’s current production began in 2017 in the same small mountain town where she grew up, San Sebastian. It is a small farm located in the mountain central area of Puerto Rico. Evelyn intends to use her funding to build an extension of the gestation-maternity farrowing sow housing and animal feed storage space on her farm. The structure will be made of cement wood and zinc. This project will provide safe humane housing for the livestock also it will provide a clean dry storage for animal feed also it will allow for increased production and profitability. It will also decrease de possibility of losing production during hurricane season.
