Adiel Andino Acevedo

Farm Name: Finca Andino

City: Quebradillas, Puerto Rico

Adiel Jose Andino Acevedo from Quebradillas, Puerto Rico is currently studying for a BA in Sustainable Agriculture at the UPR-Utuado and plans to continue to Master’s studies in crop protection at the UPR-Mayagüez. They started seeeing farming as a career option when they were just 12 years old, selling mangoes during the summer under the guidance of their grandfather.

Finca Andino began in 2019, and little by little it has been advancing and expanding. Adiel hopes to contribute to the agriculture of Puerto Rico and make fewer imported products every day. As a future goal, they hope to develop a plant nursery to propagate and germinate vegetables and medicinal plants, which will be sold to the public and the community. Their vision with this project is to have regular buyers for the products that are developed on the farm. To expand their agricultural production, I will install a 25′ x 48′ greenhouse and galvanized metal tables.
