Submit a Workshop Proposal for the 2024 CTTT Conference

RAFI is excited to host you in Rocky Mount, NC for our 2024 conference! The theme of the conference is Food, Land & Sacred Stories. The goals of the conference include:

  • Sharing resources, tools, and peer connections for faith communities to address racial inequities within the food system.
  • Providing information about how faith communities can use their assets (such as land, people power, building, and/or transportation) to participate in a just food system.
  • Energizing attendees to go back to their communities with the knowledge to challenge the systemic nature of hunger, and the skills and connections to grow structures that are based in justice.

We are looking for dynamic and engaging presenters to facilitate workshops for the conference, with these goals in mind.

What do we need from you?

  1. A proposal for an engaging 75-minute workshop
  2. A short biography, photo, and description of your session

What can you expect from us?

  1. If your workshop proposal is accepted, you will receive a free registration to the conference for each presenter and an additional (1) free registration to give at your discretion.
  2. Session presenters will also be offered an honorarium of $150 per workshop in consideration of the presenters’ time and expertise. If you represent an organization that can fund your time, please consider allowing the honorarium to fund conference scholarships.

Other Notes About Applying:

You will be prompted to create an account to submit your proposal. This will allow you to be able to save your work and come back later if needed. Workshop proposals with multiple presenters should fill out a single application.

All submitted proposals will be reviewed by a committee of staff and stakeholders. Please note that there are a limited number of workshop presentation opportunities and not all proposals will be accepted. We may contact you to discuss your proposal or to discuss combining your workshop with other similar proposals if appropriate. Additionally, all submitted information that will be included on the conference website and app (workshop title, description, presenter biography) is subject to editorial review by RAFI staff.

Workshops that align with RAFI’s core values and the conference theme will be prioritized.

If you would like to discuss your workshop idea before completing this form or if you have any questions, please contact Justine Post at 919-533-8996 or [email protected].

The deadline to submit proposals is March 29, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
Applicants will be notified by April 30, 2024, if their proposal has been accepted.

Do You Have a Story to Share?

If you have a story to tell that connects to the sacredness of food or land, we want to hear from you! Please submit your story (10 minutes maximum, please) to us. You may send it via audio, video, typed, or even handwritten. Just make sure your story touches on our conference theme: Food, Land & Sacred Stories.

The Come to the Table Conference steering committee will then select five people to share a stage for a storytelling event on night one of the conference.

In preparation for the event, selected storytellers will receive one group and one individual storytelling coaching session with Mark Yaconelli, New York Times bestselling author, and founder and Executive Director of the Hearth.
