Bio: Renard’s interest in agriculture began in his high school years at Armijo High school in Fairfield, California, where he studied agricultural science and engineering and was a member of The Future Farmers of America chapter. This sparked a lifelong study of all things agricultural. Years later, he and his wife Chinette started Vanguard Ranch in Gordonsville, Virginia from the ground up. They cleared the land, fenced and built everything here. Their passion is for sustainable and organic farming. They raise specialty vegetables and herbs currently focusing on a taste of Africa, and all produce is Certified Naturally Grown. Vanguard Ranch is also known for its Bangus line of Myotonic meat goats. They are stewards of the land; for them farming is an act of liberation.
