Gullah Farmers Cooperative Association (GFCA), St. Helena Island, SC

Project Snapshot:
The Gullah Farmer Cooperative is establishing a fruit a vegetable processing facility for their 17-member cooperative. The completed facility will include a cooler as well as processing and packing equipment for members to prepare their produce for sales to the local school district, restaurants, and stores.
Bio: The Gullah Farmers Cooperative Association (GFCA) was formed in 2010 and today represent ten Gullah farm operations in coastal counties of South Carolina: St. Helena Island (Beaufort), Hampton, Allendale and Jasper.
The GFCA mission is to establish a profitable, significant local food market hub for Farmer Members who are honoring and continuing the Sea Island agricultural traditions of our communities by growing fresh local produce.
