JAC Farm is purchasing a cargo trailer and converting it into a movie refrigerated and storage unit. This innovation will allow them to transport fresh produce and cut flowers to the farmers market, travel to consumers, and act as a cooling station on the farm. They plan to post their location on their website and social media to act as a mobile market for customers to purchase produce and flowers.

Bio: Carolyn Cheek was born and raised on her father’s farm that was passed down to him from his parents. Her family survived on the farm from the growing of tobacco, vegetables and livestock. Carolyn’s farming experience ranges from the seeding of crops, sanitary procedures, harvesting and marketing. The farm has been the lifeline for her family, the community and many other people in need. Carolyn has been a member of the local farmer’s market, currently enrolled in an internship program with Whitaker’s Small Farms out of Goldsboro NC, and a member of CEFS. Carolyn also attend numerous workshops pertaining to farming, marketing and budgeting. She attended the Sustainable Agricultural Conference (2018- 2020 and 2021 via zoom), the A&T university small farm week (2020 and 2021 via zoom). She has a BS in Business Administration and has owned a floral business for over 30 years.
