2015 Come to the Table Regional Conferences: Head, Heart, Hands

The Rural Advancement Foundation International is excited to announce its three Come to the Table conference dates for 2015.

On January 23rd, the Come to the Table conference series will kick off in the Eastern NC Region at the Southeastern Agricultural Event Center in Lumberton, NC. The Western Region Conference will take place on March 19th at Southeastern Community College in Sylva, NC. Soon after, The Piedmont Region Conference will be held on May 28 at Elon Community Church Community Life Center in Elon, NC.

Come to the Table events continue to bring together members of the faith community with farmers, gardeners, farm workers, educators, health professionals and community organizations to find solutions to relieve hunger and support local agriculture. Conference attendees can expect plenaries, topical breakout sessions, lively speakers, a great lunch, networking opportunities. As a whole, these conferences provide an environment that fosters regional collective action to address local food insecurity.

Every other year beginning in 2007, Come to the Table conferences have focused on implementing a collective vision and encouraging strong partnerships in self-reliant communities where everyone has access to healthy, just and sustainable food. In partnership with regional stakeholders, these conferences are formed to inspire and mobilize people of faith, farmers, and communities to make food more accessible, just and sustainable for all North Carolinians.

We encourage you to check out the Come to the Table Facebook page, and the RAFI website for more conference details and registration information. For additional information, contact Tahz Walker at [email protected].
