Position: Information Specialist for the RAFI-USA Tobacco Communities Reinvestment Fund.

Position: Seeking Information Specialist for the Tobacco Communities Reinvestment Fund—a grant-funded program to assist farmers and rural communities to develop new, alternative agricultural enterprises to replace lost tobacco income.
This is a 15-month position with full-time hours, serving farmers and agricultural communities throughout North Carolina. The Information Specialist will conduct field surveys/interviews and capture video documentation from program participants, and compile this information into various formats for research reports, professional presentations and educational tools. The results will be used to share project lessons learned from farmer to farmer, to ensure maximum replication of the demonstration projects. The Information Specialist will also collect data from program archives and help coordinate related meetings and events.
The Information Specialist works closely with other project staff and maintains a high level of communication with farm grant recipients. The position reports to the Program Director.
Qualifications: Education in Social Sciences, Agricultural Economics, or Communications with some experience in field surveys and data collection procedures. Applicants should be organized, with good time management and communication skills; should be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; some experience with video/audio equipment would be a plus. The position requires frequent travel within the state of North Carolina and requires reliable transportation and a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Salary: Salary is $32,000 per year plus generous health and leave benefits.
